New Sharpe Movie
Friend was at a small Friends of a Library gathering where Bernard Cornwell spoke yesterday. He said that the new Sharpe project is scripted - will be a four hour tv-movie in Britain (may be cut to 2 hrs for U.S. market -- not sure how that would work). He said that Sean definitely wants to do it. Cornwell has been told it may start filming as early as September, but he said he didn't know whether to believe it or not. please god (or goddess...or whatever PTB's are listening) let it be true. please let Sean be in it. If Boromir has to be dead, there should be something to look forward to. ;)

Isn't it, though? :prays some more: Do you know the story behind the sword in the icon? Apparently the Sharpe production gave him the sword - a real 1810's (calvary?) sword - seems he keeps it on the mantle at home.

The fates couldn't possible be cruel enough to have a new Sharpe *without* SB. Could they? could they? :whimpers:

Yep -- the story of a possible Sharpe (and possible Sean interest) has been around for a while, but hearing it from Cornwell makes it seem more real. Course Sean wanting to do it and signing on the dotted are two different things. But we will live in hope.

:joins chant: omg, omg, omg.... I know. It would be almost too cruel to dangle the possibility in front of us, then snatch it away. Forgot to say that the original rumors of this have been floating for a while -- supposed to be set in the 1820's and supposedly will be filmed in India. :please, please, please:
